What do we learn in 8th Grade?

English Curriculum

Quarter 1: Short Constructed Response Unit
Students will read short stories, and write a short constructed response to answer a writing prompt. This entails writing a paragraph that has a claim, two pieces of evidence, and logic to connect their evidence to their claim. 

Quarter 2: Cultural Identity Unit
Students will read multiple short stories about individuals who have come to the United States from other countries. They will then work towards writing a final essay that will
